The Joey Coco Project
PARENTAL ADVISORY: Explicit Content
I find it strange sometimes that as time passes there is a feeling that one should behave in a certain way. I am lucky enough to have a respectable image but with that comes the assumption that I should behave in a particular way at all times. This is something I find tricky to do.
Throughout my life I have always been ultra sensible (well most of the time), I'm always on time no matter how bad I feel, I've always worked hard and never really given my parents anything to scream at me for. But then there are times when the need to rebel or just not be sensible kicks in! Now don’t get me wrong I won’t go and get a tattoo across my face or anything too radical but, Joey Coco is an alter ego who allows me a bit more freedom than I normally would have. Now I know some people will shake their heads and say ‘what on earth is he doing and why??’
However I have decided this is my plan to just be me and do something just for me. Music is therapeutic, writing is like vacation, and hip hop is the best way to release a lot of anger. He symbolizes to me that I need to follow my own path and not be confined by other people’s views. I need to have the confidence to believe in myself and not just portray that confidence outside.
We'll see what happens. The Prelude out now. Black Paint coming soon.
Proceed With Caution
